My oldest daughter, Ryanne, wanted a guinea pig for her 9th birthday in June of 2002 so my friend and I decided to split the cost. My friend went to two different Petsmarts to get a female because her name had to be Miss Piggy. She was very lonely though and my other daughter, Alexsa, decided she wanted a piggie too. So I did some research on the internet and found the Texas Rustler Guinea Pig rescue in Dallas. I spoke extensively with Julia who helped match us up with just the right piggy and that's how Franklin came to our family (in October of 2002). When Franklin came to us, Miss Piggy became so much happier right away. We love them and they are a special addition to our family.

After losing a piggie we had for almost 6 years, we decided to see what TX. Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue had. We saw Sonic and Shadow (formerly Jacob and Natalie) and thought they had to be the cutest things we ever saw. Shadow is a black and white Peruvian female and Sonic (his name says it all!) is a tan and white Sheltie. The cutest thing about these precious little piggies is when I am getting ready to give them their spring mix salad with veggies, they hear me all the way upstairs, from the kitchen downstairs, rattling the bag and setting their dishes on the counter! They start to call to me to let me know they are ready. - Submitted by Steve, Bonnie and Aaron Simon

We adopted our piggies in January of this year from
the Texas Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue. Petunia Flowers (shown)
is a very outgoing piggy who likes to be held and give
piggy kisses. G. Piggy is shyer than her sister, but
likes to lie in your lap and be petted as she falls
asleep. - Submitted by Stacy And Tim Dugan

Toffee is a loving, caring and most outgoing little girl, she is so calm, and very fisty if you don't let her eat her favorite food. I adopted this little girl to be the partner of my favorite singer, puglsey. At first I was just fostering her even though they told me not to get attached to her, Well I did, but it was a good thing because she becamed my new baby's wife This little girl does her popcorn jump when she is so excited to see food or see me trying to pet her. She is just wonderful, I love her colors because she does look like the toffee bar. She is the only little girl that loves her mommy, and I love her so much too.

This is Maddie - here photographed without her best friend Shelley, who was sulking in his pigloo because we came for a visit without any carrots! Kaylie and Emily Pugh and their mom Susan Pugh take care of Shelley and Maddie, and the pigs came to us from Texas Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue. This photograph was taken by Kaylie Pugh, 11, for a collage of photos of Maddie that she created for her school PTA Reflections competition.

This is Precious Dee Guinea, we call him "Precious D" for short. We are his parents, Michael & Melea Robertson of Austin, Texas. Precious came to us when in October of 2000 we adopted his mother, Big Mama from a pet store where we felt she wasn't being given the attention she needed as she was pregnant, and in a cage with about 10 other animals. Precious was the last born in a litter of 3, and he was born with slight birth defects. From the time he was a week old, I had to feed him by hand with a medicine dropper, and I fell in LOVE! He grew up happy and strong, and it's hard to tell that he was handicapped and had difficulty walking as a piglet. He is the light of our lives, and there isn't a happier pig that has ever lived than our Precious D.

Madison and Brooklyn (shown with son, Colby) are sisters, they are 3 months old and we were fortunate to have adopted them from the Texas Rustlers Guinea Pig Rescue. We brought them home to join our family when they were a month old and my two sons Justin and Colby as well as myself enjoy them thoroughly! We have nick-named them the "Silly Weeeker Sisters" as they 'WEEK' with joy everytime you speak to them or they think they are being fed. - Submitted by Nancy Montemayor
